July 20th, 2007 by My Lost Shadow

I spent a part of my day listening to a group of people trying to figure out why their audio setup wasn’t working properly and was making a damn strange noise; the amusing part is that those people supposed to be professionals organizing a concert. Their conclusion was that at another gig a dude messed their gear up. Way to go!

This was taking place in Suburbia, a semi new place opened near my home and seeing as my former “homes” closed I decided to check it out. The verdict: not impressed… the place was painted in a blackish color but there were a few windows (take into consideration that it is housed on the first floor of and old building) too small to see through but large enough to create a bit too much light. There wasn’t any music because of the concert so I can’t say anything about that (although I hear they play both hip-hop/rap and punk/rock) but the acoustics sounded nice (there were a few tests done by those guys); the only thing is that I don’t know if that was the default gear of the place or just the concert setup. Another disturbing fact is that the place was empty by the time me and Andy got there; disturbing because most places are full at around 8PM, the time we entered the club. Nice parts are the cheap bear and the fact that it’s cold.

All in all the place is OK but I don’t think it will take over as my new “home away from home” as the old ones. Which old ones you ask? Well, Collectors’ Pub (long live but rest in peace), Underworld, Hanul cu Tei (in the good old days) and Utopia. Now I’ll just have to manage with “La Motoare” and Jacks. Meh…
