Foreword

This is my first post over here on Impersonal Confessions so I guess I’ll mostly speak about myself and this newly created blog. You can find some basic info in the about box which resides down stairs on the main page but that is mostly only a short description of the vision behind this place.

So, first things first, who am I? I’m Serban Constantin, not so old of age, born during a winter storm somewhen in November. I’ve spent most of my time around computers despite being raised by a painter and an economist despite the influences they both managed to stick to me; I’m a fan of journalism and good books, writer on IT&C topics over at ArenaIT.net (Romanian online IT&C Publication), drinker of good beer (Carlsberg and Silva Black mostly) and listener of rock and indie music (I guess I’ll write a post about the stuff I listen to sometime in the future). Alongside of all these things I’m a huge fan of all open-source initiatives and a big supporter of the eLiberatica initiative, a conference held in Romania concentrating on FLOSS. I also have a couple of good friends which reside on the web and whose addresses you can find over at the links page.

One of the most important person in my life is Andy, the cute brunette which is all over my Flickr photo stream. She’s something special and also the person behind the idea of Impersonal Confessions; she is the sole-writer of ColoredAfricanSnow, a blog about metaphors and creative thinking. She also loves all the little bits of life which encompass the both of us and tends to be my conscience and support. She’s training to become a human resources manager with a secondary degree in organizational psychology so if you’re looking for someone along those lines you’d better reserve a spot to be dazzled and amazed by her. A small note, most of the pictures of her are her own doing seeing as she hates being photographed by others.

This brings me to another more recent passion which is photography, posibly inspired by the fact that my dad is a painter, or visual artist if you will. Although I don’t have the best equipment even for a beginner (I own a Canon PowerShot S5) I love learning the art and craft while saving for a DSLR. Most of my works are upped on Flickr but some albums can be found on Picasa.

Regarding the future evolution of this blog I can’t say much: I hope to respect a certain schedule and post as good as possible; also, even though most of the posts will be in English there may exist Romanian ones which won’t have an English translation. I’ve blogged in the past over at Suicidal-Tendency (now dead but I might repost the entries and comments) and am currently blogging at ArenaIT.

This will be my place of ranting on the things which come to mind. I hope to adopt a challenging metaphorical expression so that all the truths hidden in the posts will be somewhat hard to find; I do this only to assure that only dedicated people will read this… I am not in a search for readers and commentators which aren’t able to make a sentence let alone understand the things which will be discussed over here. This is about all, the rest is going to come along with the new posts. Feel free to leave comments (I love replying to them).
